it appears to be UTC time;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time

this has been cropping up all over recently, already been burned by misinterpretations on a couple of occasions...and they havn't even taken warped space time into consideration :)

Coordinated Universal Time is a high-precision atomic time warp, opening a portal upstairs in a building on Sheridan Avenue that connects to the casbah in Casablanca -where servers relax.
UTC is also referred to as Zulu time

whoah - i think i need some medication to understand those two posts :) according to one of the posts from the archive, they have servers (or something) in alexandria egypt - does that time zone correspond to the casbahah???? i am confused (as usual - too much brain damage)

on second thought - there isn't enough medication to follow that one (and i was a trekkie - sad)

we are now displaying forum times in "pacific time"
which is -7 or -8 (depending on silly, but nice for sun, US daylight savings time).

we *had* been displaying GMT/UTC for the last 3+ months,
but people didn't like that.

i can add a "PDT" (or "PST") to forum post times, possibly?

otherwise, i think i'd need something like javascript to determine the client requestor's timezone (or minimally find something in the HTTP request header) to know what
time zone y'all are in...

sorry tracey - i was vague in my question. i realize my posts do show up pretty much with the same speed they always have.

just curious why the posts or replies send me back to the "blank" post page as if i never wrote anything and the "Cancel" is always highlighted. It appears as though one didn't reply or post after hitting send, but i realize it does.
Does that jibber-jabber make any sense?? sorry if im not explaining myself well - my fault.

hey, late reply.

i think posts can appear "blank" for a bit due to some
short-term caching (of around 10 minutes or so)
of some forum posts pages...

Almost lost it when they showed the old Trek clips and then they had the grown-up version of the freaky kid from the "Tranya" episode ("I hope you'll join me for a drink. This......is tranya....A-hahahahahahah...")

useless trivia note: That guy is Ron (Opie) Howard's brother, who also played a serial killer in an old "Seinfeld" epiosde.

Favorite line of the night had to be from Greg Giraldo: "Wow: Farah Fawcett, Carrie Fisher, and Betty White are here. I'll take 'women I used to masturbate to 30 years ago' for a-thousand, Alex."
